6 Metre, 6 Ton Steel Furnace Base

Challenge

Refurbish and re-machine the sealing area on the furnace base for correct alignment to the furnace lid. 

Approach

Applying a Renshaw touch probe to gauge variation, WEC utilised our CNC floor borer to re-machine the furnace base to strict tolerances provided by Bradken. The project was picked up and delivered to Bradken using our WEC truck.

Result 

Furnace base delivered back to Bradken within 24 hours, dramatically reducing downtime for the client.
