Project

5 Ton Jaques Rock Crusher Body

Challenge

Within 48 hours, repair support-bearing journal of crusher body.

Approach

The original methodology was for the journal to be machined in-situ to the crusher body. This would have involved a lengthy and costly machine set-up process. WEC developed a solution to remove the support bush from the crusher body using our 200-ton large capacity press. We then re-machined the bush on our CNC lathe to the required tolerances. The bush was refitted by shrink-fitting it back into position in the crusher body.

Result

A cost-effective alternative to the original work scope, with faster turnaround time and no sacrifice of quality.
